Sweater: Wildfox | Shorts: Levi’s | Sneaks: Converse | Clutch: Clare V. | Necklace: Blee Inara | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Lippie: MAC “Brave” + “Velvet Teddy” + Liner: MAC “Whirl” | Nails: OPI “Alpine Snow”
I saw this sweater at Nordstrom and couldn’t whip out my card fast enough. I already have a few other pieces from the Wildfox x Barbie line seen here and here, but couldn’t resist the darker, edgier feel that emulated from this sweater. I always say my husband is the “Ken to my Barbie” so I thought it was perfect! I may have caved and purchased the hot-pink color as well. I can’t contain myself when it comes to Barbie! It’s really weird, but every time I see anything with the doll’s memorabilia, a squeal from a 5-year-old girl starts ringing in my ears, and then I realize it’s me. That shrill scream is coming from my 24-year-old self. I’m screaming. Out loud. I don’t know if it is the consumerism-style fashion that I have become accustomed to, or if it is just a childhood-fantasy never to depart from my ever-aging body. Probably the latter, since the Barbie aisle at Target is still my favorite. But I promise the infatuation isn’t as intense this girl‘s… How is that even humanly possible?
On another note, I’m graduating today! Typing those words is a bit surreal, because it never seemed this day would come! Yet here I am, and I have to say it’s bittersweet. On on hand, I’m ecstatic that this chapter of my life has come to a close. Yet on the other, although I can’t fathom those emotions right now, there’s a nagging feeling that I’m going to look back on this time with longing. As of right now, it’s 99.9% pure bliss. I’ll keep you posted for when that other 0.1% of wistfulness draws near. I wouldn’t bet on it anytime soon though! To celebrate, my husband, our favorite couple, and I will be heading to Hawaii for one whole week of euphoria. I’ve never been, but I already know I’m going to be in “kalani,” as the ocean is my serenity. Have you ever been to Hawaii? What are some things I “must do” while there?
We heart Junie Blake!
Dress: Junie Blake | Belt: Nordstrom (similar) | Sandals: Target | Bag: Calvin Mitchell | Sunnies: Céline | Necklace: Kate Spade, Michael Kors (similar), Bip & Bop | Bracelets: Paint The Town Me, Stella & Dot, Alex & Ani (here, here & here) | Nails: OPI “Alpine Snow”
Lippie: NARS “Heat Wave” + Liner: MAC “Trust in Red“
The fit and flare cut is hands-down my favorite dress style! It is so flattering on my body-type and I’m convinced it’s flattering on every body type since it focuses on the slimmest part of your body, your waist! This one from Junie Blake features pleats, pockets and a forgiving fabric! All of which are excellent qualities in one dress alone! It can be difficult to find dresses that aren’t basically minis, especially for me since my legs are long for my height! This one hits right at the knee, making it acceptable for church or anywhere else you don’t want to show too much leg! Junie Blake has so many other styles and options! I’ve had my eye on this one; I think it would be perfect for summer when the only thing I want to wear is a dress!
Dress: Junieblake (℅) | Shoes: Vince Camuto (love these) | Belt: Vintage | Purse: Vintage Dooney & Burke | Rings: Paint The Town Me (℅) | Sunnies: Michael Kors (love these) | Lips: ABH
I love me some Arizona sunsets! Mix that with a desert landscape and you get a breathtaking backdrop! I thought this striped fit and flare dress from Junieblake complimented the natural background seamlessly. It just screams summer with the light-weight fabric and crisp white stripes against faded denim. I played on the chambray element and added a vintage leather belt with an oversized buckle and strappy leather sandals to complete this western look. Stripes are a timeless trend, probably because they make it so easy to mix and match with varying prints and patterns. What is your favorite go-to pattern?
I had to throw up the sign of my soon-to-be alma mater!
Dress: Shabby Apple (℅) | Pumps: Jeffrey Campbell (similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Purse: Betsey Johnson (similar) Earrings: Kate Spade (similar) | Bracelets: Stella & Dot (& here), Alex & Ani (also here, here, & here), Vince Camuto, Tasha | Rings: Gifted | Lips: NARS ” Heat Wave” + Liner: MAC “Trust in Red” | Nails: OPI “Alpine Snow”
It’s safe to say this outfit isn’t lacking in color, but it was fitting for the occasion! I’m so obsessed with this dress from Shabby Apple and especially the multi-colored tassels which I took as a nod to the ones I’ll be wearing at my graduation! I love browsing through Shabby Apple’s dresses, the cuts and fabrics remind me of the “Mad Men” era, or something from Zooey Dechanel’s closet!
I used some of these photos for my graduation announcements because I am graduating with my BA in Journalism with a focus on Public Relations at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in a little over two weeks! It’s been an honor and a privilege attending such a prestigious college, but I am more than ready to wrap up this era of my life and start a career. While it’s a bit daunting to think of all that comes with entering the “real world,” I’m up for the challenge!

Happy Earth Day! I thought today’s background was fitting for the day, with the the leafy green trees and lush grass!
I am a sucker for fringe. When I saw these shoes, I immediately put them in my online shopping cart and never looked back. Fringe may be my favorite trend right now and I see much more of it filling up my wardrobe in the future.
