One of my many many favorite things about summer? Swimsuits! Every season I find myself craving a new one to ring in the sun-filled season and the pineapple print on these Korni Jean high-waisted bottoms were hard to resist! I love that you can mix and match the tops and bottoms to create a unique look that compliments your taste and body type best! I fell in love with the high-rise top, and think it would be so cute worn as a top paired with cut-offs and a kimono on a beach or pool day! I hope your summer is going swimmingly! I’m going to go catch up on The Bachelorette… crossing my fingers she wises up and chooses Shawn!

The tassel obsession continues… I hope it never ends! I already have a few more tasseled tops coming my way via mail! I’ve been busy going through my apartment and gathering up clothes, accessories, shoes, home decor, etc. that I no longer use to make more space. It’s crazy how much stuff you can accumulate without actively trying. While I was in school and interning I didn’t really have time to organize and go through things as much, and it feels so good to not have so much unnecessary stuff in my space. I guess I’m not a candidate for Hoarders: Buried Alive, but my compulsion for getting rid of things might make me a candidate for My Strange Addiction. Have you seen either of those TV shows? They are completely ludicrous and yet strangely captivating.
Pink and orange are one of my absolute favorite color combinations. When I was younger, one of my counselors at camp told me those were my complimentary colors, but I didn’t believe her because I had a Hawaiian Barbie with a pink and orange get-up, and it seemed too flashy. But now, it feels like I’m mixing the best of both worlds, plus it plays off the monochromatic trend because they are so close in the color spectrum! I have to draw attention to these wedges again. I’ve talked about them before but I’m circling back because I have a funny story pertaining to them. I was shopping, more like browsing, at the Nordstrom at Fashion Island in Newport, California, when this lady comes up to me and asks, “Where did you get your wedges?” I told her I bought them at Nordstrom, but I wasn’t sure if they still carried them, so she took a picture of my feet, in my wedges mind you, so she could reference them later. I was completely flattered yet I’m also hoping she doesn’t have some secret foot fetish which I helped spur. I’m kidding, she was totally normal and she definitely asked before she snapped a picture. I hope I helped her find them! 🙂

We took these photos right outside our villa in Newport, but it looks so lush and green it could pass for Hawaii! The grounds at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas are always impeccable! I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay there a few times before with my family because my aunt has a timeshare there. This time it was just Krystal, myself and two other sisters who stayed there, and we definitely enjoyed each others’ company spending quality time with one another! I was worried that it might be overcast the entire time we would be there due to “June Gloom,” but it was surprisingly sunny and warm except for the very last day, so I was a happy girl. My only complaint about this trip would have to be that I forgot my black aviator Ray-Bans in the room. I know, cry me a river but I hate losing stuff, it makes me go berserk (who even uses that word anymore?) thinking of all the possible places it could be. I find solace knowing my lost goods shall one day be reunited with me in heaven. Actually, that’s most definitely false but it gives me a shred of peace so don’t burst my bubble, mmkay pumpkin?
I die for this bikini, but it’s made by Bikini Lab so no shocker there! I must have caught the fuchsia fever because this whole look is monochromatic. Speaking of purple shades, I did a purple wash right before this trip and you can definitely tell in these photos! If you’re a blonde and don’t know what that is, don’t worry, I got you boo. In fact, I’m going dedicate a post solely to hair just for you. I’ll also be doing a skin secrets post next and a make-up post (tutorial if I’m feelin’ frisky) after that because I have a yearning desire to spread the love and share all my tips.
Romper: Chloe Oliver (c/o) | Shoes: Shutz (loving these) | Sunnies: Quay | Necklace: James Michelle | Lippie: Too Faced Melted | Nails: OPI “Mod About You” (BEST color for every season!)
It’s no secret that I have a love affair with rompers! I honestly couldn’t resist this one by Chloe Oliver because the ombré effect reminded me of an orange creamsicle, which is the essence of all things summer wrapped up in one popsicle. I’m sure I could have tried a little harder to resist adding one more romper to my closet, but those bell sleeves and that open back though! It was the perfect get-up for outdoor shopping at Fashion Island in Newport: Sunny, but not too hot, with a cool breeze. I would much rather be in California than stuck sweating it out in this heat wave in Arizona. The struggle is really real right now, wish us luck!

I’m so bummed that this is my last outfit post from Hawaii, but this was a day full of adventure! First we went out to breakfast, like we did every day, and drove to North Shore and watched the enormous waves and surfers trying to dominate them. Then we ventured over to Kualoa Beach Park to get a closer look at Mokoliʻi, formerly known as Chinaman’s Hat. This was one of the busier beaches we visited, with a lot of people barbecuing, kayaking or snorkeling. Unfortunately, it was windy and overcast that day, so we didn’t get to soak up much sun, but still, a beautiful day in Oahu! I still can’t believe it has almost been a month since I left for this tropical paradise! My husband and I have been talking about going back since the day we came home. We’ve since watched “Aloha” and “Jurassic World”, which was filmed in Hawaii, since retuning and it’s only feeding our wanderlust. We decided that since we stayed on the main island the whole week, the next time we go to Hawaii we want to go to Maui or Kauai. But either way, we’ll be back Hawaii, don’t you worry.
I loved dressing in colorful, tropical outfits in Hawaii. This buttery-soft silk shirtdress was one of the first things I packed because I was specifically saving it for Hawaii! I also couldn’t forget my starfish headband and yet another pair of starfish sandals. I might have a slight obsession with starfish, but doesn’t every mermaid?
