Another Barbie top? Yes, I know. But let me explain… this is Wildfox and COTTON CANDY SCENTED so I basically needed it in my life! I dressed it up extra girly with a faux leather skater skirt, pearls, and strappy heels but I think it would look just as fabulous with destroyed denim and sneaks! It also lends itself to a more casual counter-part because it comes with a lived-in feel along with slight distressing! My favorite part of the tee? Barbie’s “resume” on the back, listing all of her previous occupations. All I have to say is Barbie is pretty much the OG. #sorrynotsorry
Also, how darling is this designer tumbler? I purchased the limited edition Alice + Olivia ceramic mug last year from Starbucks, because how could I resist that tutu or bow-tie? I couldn’t and to be honest, I didn’t even try to. I’m sort of obsessed with this year’s tumbler, but sadly, it already sold out! It featured a siren, aka mermaid, and was gilded in gold. Sigh. I’m peanut butter and jelly of you lucky ducks that have her in your possession right now.

With Christmas Day fast approaching, it’s time to get your holiday wish list out of your shopping cart (real or virtual) and under your tree! These are a few items that I am currently loving and think you should have, or are already on their way to me via Santa’s sleigh! My birthday is on the 22 of December and my husband’s is on the 30, December is a pretty expensive month for the both of us to say the least. I usually shop for myself for my birthday and Christmas presents from Todd, but he still somehow manages to surprise me with something! I wonder what it will be this year? 🙂 Is there anything you are wishing for on this list? Or perhaps you have a few suggestions to add to mine? I’d love to know in the comments!

Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner! The older I get the faster it creeps up on me. Christmastime is really the “most wonderful time of the year.” I love the lit up houses, Christmas music, family, and being in my comfiest clothes next to the fire. THE BEST. I hope you all are enjoying the days leading up to Christmas as much as I am.

So I originally had my hair half-up for these pictures, but my sister, Jessica suggested I put it up to show off the neckline of this top (which she also gave to me!) and she was so right. I don’t own very many turtle-necks because living in Arizona, it just isn’t necessary and way too hot. And usually when I do, I feel like I’m having an anxiety attack and can’t breathe with something constricting my neck. It’s weird. But this top doesn’t feel like that at all! It’s really loose around the neck and I think the Victorian lace style is so elegant, it basically screams, “Put your hair up!” So, thanks for the suggestion, Jessa!
I had an interesting encounter with a stranger the other day. During a shopping trip some girl decided it was appropriate to call me “ratchet” because I called her out for cutting me in line. She and her friend then proceeded to make fun of the “green” in my hair right behind me. Honestly, it was more funny to me than anything because I am the farthest thing from ratchet. So I just ignored them even though they were basically harassing me in line behind them, it was really immature and honestly makes me sad that grown women act this way, in public. But… the funniest part was that I had JUST called that same sister I was just talking about, Jessica, (by the way I have 5 sisters) telling her my that for some reason my hair didn’t look green anymore. I don’t know why but ever since I colored my hair purple, it takes on a slight shade of blue/green in certain light, especially fluorescent light! It really doesn’t even bother me at all, plus it is sort of mermaid-y. 🙂 So I called her back after being called “ratchet” and them making fun of the green in my hair, and was like, “Just kidding, apparently there’s still some green in there!” and told her the story. Sometimes you just have to laugh, because people are ridiculous.

I really don’t think that there is anything prettier or more unique than turquoise jewelry. The color really lends itself to pair with so many different colors. I feel like red and turquoise are one combination that I am really into right now. Over the past several years I have come to collect a few pieces of my own. I also have a very special piece that was given to me by my brother-in-law, and it is the giant turquoise ring that I am wearing! It may very well be one of my favorites! Plus it fits perfectly! I dream of the day when I can wear stacks upon stacks of bracelets up my arm, and a squash blossom would be nice as well. But, that may take several more years of saving!
