Wait, so why are overalls a thing again? No one really knows the answer except maybe because 90’s grunge is back with a vengeance. At least these overalls are an updated version of the relics from a distant past. They have a slimmer fit and I think the shorts version are cuter. I’m just hoping they don’t look too “Mom Jeans” on me. You know, like the SNL skit written by Tina Fay? I can’t stand jeans that are baggy on your behind either, i.e., boyfriend jeans. I tried it with three different pairs of jeans but took them all back because I  just can’t do it. Every time I put them on and turned around to see how my booty looked in them I got sad. Bums shouldn’t look like that in jeans, okay? At least not mine.

I sort of went with the grunge look by adding opaque black tights and boots and then adding this plaid button up. Plaid is a staple for fall and winter and I’m so glad it has stuck around another year because I can wear this shirt again. I purchased it from the wonderful and all-encompassing Target last year and only wore it once. I like how the lines that form the checks are thinner and closer together, so it doesn’t look like your average, every day plaid. Plus its a slimmer fit which makes it excellent for layering, and the sequined collar adds that girly touch I can’t resist.

I felt like covering myself in turquoise accessories instead of my usual all gold or rose gold for some reason. I like how it popped against the red shirt and matched the turquoise frames on my Clubmasters.

This dress is reason enough why orange is my new favorite color. I’m obsessed with everything orange right now and not just because it’s autumn. I mean obviously when you think of the color, fall immediately comes to mind with all things like pumpkins, leaves and candy corn. But it’s also the perfect color for spring if the shade is a little more pastel! In summer the brighter the orange the better. So it’s basically a year ’round color and I’m more than okay with that. Plus, what other fruit is named the actual color that it is? How rad is that? It’s almost edgy in a way because they basically broke all the rules naming it the exact description of it’s color. Orange is a straight rule breaker and I dig it. Haha I’m only kidding. It’s actually pretty lame. There’s over a million words in the English language and that is what they came up with?

Even though this orange is on the brighter side, I think the longer sleeves make it more appropriate for winter. I added this leopard print infinity scarf because, layers! 🙂 I’ve been waiting to wear these loafers for a while and thought with knee socks, it would pair well with the girly dress.

Nana Nana Nana Nana BATMAN!

Top: Zoe Karssen  |Pants: Rag and Bone |Purse: Rebecca Minkoff (ON SALE)| Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (love these)| Necklace: Tasha (love this) | Bracelet: Seasonal Whispers (love these) | Lippie: Mac ‘Snob’

This shirt makes you want to sing the theme song huh? I thought it was fun and finally decided to pull it out of the closet and wear it. Just so happens that this adorable Rebecca Minkoff purse matched it perfectly! isn’t this bag the epitome of pretty punk? and it is on SALE so go and get it!. I absolutely adore this color because it is a really easy transition color.

Another thing that overwhelms my closet are Jeffrey Campbell shoes. The price point is great and they are cute, trendy, and comfortable. It is a problem I tell you, and very fun problem 🙂

November Is Here…

I really am mad for plaid, my closet is bursting at the seams with it. I try and limit myself so not every post has it incorporated somehow, it is really hard guys. I adore the look of tights and shorts, like this. It also helps that when it gets a little cooler you can extend your cute summer shorts for a while longer. Let me know what you think about the shorts and tights look. Is it a love/hate? I would love to see how you style your tights with shorts too!
