There is just something so magical about an all-white outfit. I love when I see it on other people and yet I never really tried it myself so I decided to go for it and I am definitely going to do it more often. Also, I can’t get enough of braids! Fishtails, French braids, Dutch braids, etc. They are my go-to on work days, second day hair, damaged hair, healthy hair, long hair, short hair, a date night… the list could go on and on! And with so many tutorials our there, the possibilities are endless! What style of braid can you not get enough of?
This is the last batch of California photos for me. Krystal braided my hair for these photos we took on Laguna Beach, she’s a braiding wizard I tell you! This is hands down my favorite hairstyle for a beach or pool day, just make sure to protect your part with sunscreen! I used Hawaiian Tropic, a brand I’ve been keen on for a while now, especially this one with the shimmer effect! It makes your skin look flawless and sparkly in the sun, kind of like a vampire from Twilight, but better. But NOTHING smells more like summer to me than Banana Boat tanning oil with its coconut, banana and carrot extract! I’ve been buying this stuff for years, and I’m convinced nothing can complete at that price point. I dig a good rainbow bikini, and this one by Bikini Lab was a saucy mix between candy striper and ’70s roller disco babe! I love the flutter detail and the bow cut-out on the back, the devil is in the details folks.
Nothing is quite as relaxing as listening to the waves rolling in on the shore, but when you’re at a crowded beach, you need some help drowning out the conversations around you. Cue the headphones, another beach necessity! Have you guys heard of Frends? I’ve been seeing this brand everywhere, and it’s no wonder why! They produce quality sound AND look cool with the simple and sleek designs. I’m sort of obsessing over these, plus they come complete with a pair of BaubleBar earrings! However, in keeping with the technicolor theme here, these oil slicked babies also hold a place in my heart. I hope you enjoyed my beach attire and thanks for reading! 🙂
We had the unique opportunity to collaborate with Farnsworth Videography again for this tutorial! We had several requests on a how-to video for this messy mohawk braid that we wore in several different Instagram posts! (P.S., If you’re not following us on our Instagram account you should really get on that! We’re going to be doing another giveaway pretty soon!) We had so much fun making this for you guys, even we were slightly nervous to do so! It’s always a trip for your weird quirkss on camera, but you can only get better with practice, right? Thanks again to Terryl, Jason and Aaron for being the best videographers around! You sure know how to make us look good! 🙂 We look forward to working with you all in the future!
We had several requests to make a tutorial on how to do the mohawk braid after putting up this picture on Instagram! Well, Krystal and I finally got around to filming it with Farnsworth Videography a few weeks ago and it should be ready soon so stay tuned! It’s our first ever video together, and I haven’t even seen it yet so I’m pretty excited as well!
This sweater is another favorite of mine. I’m all about classic black and white, and thought this two-toned one was a must-have! I paired it with my favorite faux leather skinnies and oxfords for a more casual look. But I didn’t skimp on the accessories! Mixing metals and stacking bracelets is such a great way to add interest to any outfit and make it look more special, especially if your outfit is on the simpler side.
I’ve added links below to the items I’m wearing in this post, and some other items that I’ve been keeping my eye on as well! Thanks for stopping by!
Today felt like sweater weather, so I pulled out this soft one from Vince and paired it with some comfortable leggings. I felt like I was on a cloud all day. I love days like these. I tend to wear my hair in simple braids for work because they are no fuss and out of the way, so when it comes to my days off I wear my hair down. Well not today, I wanted to spice up my usual braids and I think it turned out pretty cool.
